Full-time, Contract, Onsite
$18.20 per hour, 35 hrs/week
Start date: May 16, 2025 for eight weeks
This position is thanks to support from Employment and Social Development Canada - Canada Summer Jobs program. Participants will also be encouraged to complete a questionnaire to report on their experience with the Canada Summer Jobs program. As per requirements of this grant, the successful candidate must be:
- between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment.
- either Canadian, Permanent Resident or Refugee. International students are not eligible for this role.
- legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial / territorial legislation and regulations.

What will you be doing as the Operations Officer, Administration?
The Operations Officer, Administration will provide support to the Operations and Programming team. They play a vital role in creating systems and procedures, and streamlining processes.
Based on the nature of this role, the Operations Officer may need to work weekends and evenings outside of regular work hours to support events planned throughout May and June.
All Pride Toronto Summer Students must be available to work Pride Festival Weekend (June 26-29). Pride Festival Weekend is full of performances, art and parades celebrating the 2SLGBTQI+ communities. No matter their role, all members of the Pride Toronto team support the Pride Festival through various operational and programming tasks that ensure the events are safe, fun, and memorable.
Other responsibilities include:
- Research and assess sustainable operations vendors.
- Reconfigure Google G-Suite files to be compliant with our Document Management Policy.
- Provide administrative support to the Operations & Programming team.
- Assist the Operations & Programming team with all elements of advancing documents, including contractual obligations, contract review, tech rider review and confirmations
- Onsite contact for select artists, vendors and volunteers
- Responsible for vehicle and radio management.
- Assist in overseeing operational festival facilities and planning including transportation, venues, food, scheduling, accreditation and safety
- Support and administer all administrative needs for the Operations & Programming team.
- Work closely with other departments to ensure a successful festival.
- Always represent Pride Toronto in a positive manner.
- Other tasks as assigned.
What are we looking for?
Qualifications and skills required of the role.
- Candidates must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment
- Highly organized and experienced with MS Office, G-Suite platform and other online tools
- Strong communication skills
- Knowledge and understanding of the 2SLGBTQI+ community
- Demonstrated administrative background
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
- This position requires you to work from our office Mondays to Fridays either between 9:00am-5:00pm or 10:00am-6:00pm.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed for meetings and events (lieu time provided to be provided for hours worked)
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including occasional heavy lifting (up to 25 lbs), may be required to support on-site event production needs. The ideal candidate is hands-on and adaptable, willing to assist with logistical tasks to ensure seamless event execution
Nice to haves:
- Experience working at a festival or nonprofit organization
- Exceptional strategic thinking abilities and experience in successfully overseeing complex projects
- Strong organizational skills including the ability to simultaneously manage multiple priorities
- Proven ability to work independently as well as in a group setting
- G-class drivers license

Compensation
$18.20 per hour
